Commercial Lines Product Manager is a key member of team supporting the development, design and implementation of our small commercial product strategy. This position is very collaborative, working with management, sales, underwriters, IT, legal, finance and marketing functions. This role will strategically challenge, develop and lead our product expansion objectives set forth in our business plan.  Work closely with carriers and distribution channels and make recommendations for revenue growth and profit opportunities based upon research and analysis of segments in the small commercial lines marketplace.  Directly manage product design, development and pricing efforts with input from all aspects of the company (internally) and externally with distribution partners and carrier partners.

Key Functions include:

  • Develops and executes product(s) strategy
  • Executes product development strategy to achieve financial results in the areas of profit, growth and expense
  • Data analysis against existing book and new business flow to drive target class, risk and pricing for new products offered at the point of sale
  • Innovative in collaborating with partners, carriers, sales and IT to design new, simplified products.
  • Participates in the product strategy and ensures execution of the strategic plan
  • Provides subject matter expertise to the development of relevant automation technology, product design, underwriting and operations.
  • Creates, monitors and communicates underwriting directives for the products while ensuring a consistent approach and delivery across the products.
  • Develops value proposition and ensures distribution force is equipped to successfully market products directly to their customers.
  • Interviews key customers, acts as a customer advocate; listens and develops solutions as appropriate.

Experience and Knowledge Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 to 7 years of Commercial Lines product development experience, 3+ years of leadership experience, 1+ years of project management experience.
  • Intimate working knowledge of Commercial Lines Property and Casualty insurance industry
  • Multi-line product development and strategic portfolio analysis including BOP, General Liability, WC, Commercial Auto, Cyber, Inland Marine and Umbrella lines of business, underwriting practices, competitive analysis, state filings, state regulations and compliance.
  • Familiarity with insurance modeling, risk tiering analysis and strategies.

JOB SUMMARY

As part of the Service Center team, your overall responsibilities will be to supervise the service & operational support teams to deliver exceptional customer service to our clients and partners.  You will ensure that tasks are completed accurately, promptly by managing day-to-day work flows, overseeing a number processing tasks and monitoring a number of call queues.

Your responsibilities will include managing a team of customer service associates and taking a vested roll in their development. You may have additional responsibilities including marketing accounts, processing policy changes, process improvement and supporting our “pay as you go” insurance program.   On an as needed basis, you may also participate in various projects as we develop the best ways to scale for growth. To achieve your goals, you’ll collaborate daily with team members in sales, new accounts, and IT.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Property & Casualty License
  • Call Center experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree
  • Detail orientation in everything you do: there is a lot of customer and policy information flying by you – having a keen eye here is essential

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Identify any gaps in coverage to ensure client has proper coverage.

Summary:

As part of the Sales team, your primary mission will be to help provide our small business customers with peace of mind – the knowledge that they have the proper insurance protection for their business.    You will do this by reaching out to new referrals, to solicit and quote commercial insurance policies, and by working with existing customers from our existing national book of business to expand coverage where necessary.  Your responsibilities are focused on contacting all prospective clients within target time frames and developing relationships with referral sources and carrier contacts to successfully sell.   You will be counted on to work closely with prospective customers to educate them on the benefits of our programs and products while ensuring all accounts are underwritten within carrier guidelines.

Everyone is asked to meet or exceed minimum monthly production numbers for unit and/or revenue and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.  The best candidates are team players that have knack for focusing on each individual sales experience to give clients an amazing buying experience.

Skills / Qualifications:

  • An active NYS Property and Casualty license is required
  • 1-3 years of experience working within a commercial lines agency or insurance carrier
  • Proven ability to use sales and selling techniques such as securing critical risk information, identifying and overcoming objections, solving prospect or policyholder problems, generating interest, asking for the sale and conducting follow-up to convert leads to sales
  • Understanding of insurance coverages afforded by the current ISO forms to include but not limited to BOP, GL, Commercial Auto, E&O, D&O, Workers Compensation and EPLI.
